• Class Reunions & Activities

    I currently teach as a double period at Shamokin Area High School.  I am in my 20th year teaching Health and Physical Education at my alma mater (1997 graduate)!  Ten years ago we won a prestigious Physical Education grant for $1.1 million!  New PE equipment, Health curriculums, brand new weight room, brand new cardio room, and all our adventure equipment including a low ropes course, two high ropes courses, and two 550 foot ziplines were purchased with the grant funds!  So exciting!  
     
    We are now in need of replacing most of the adventure equipment (helmets($60 each), harnesses ($200 each), ropes ($600 for six ropes 100 feet in length).  The climbing industry states that after 10 years we need to replace certain items.  The course gets inspected every year at a cost, as well as instructors re-certified each year at a cost (all funds raised by my Powder Puff football game held each fall).  This year we are in need of raising approximately $12,500 to sustain the adventure curriculum.  I have just started a Go Fund Me page to raise the remaining funds needed.
